I get asked a lot rather the Martella bags are made for men or women.
For me, beauty is abstract. You can't really put your finger on what it is that is so beautiful, and if you can - this is where it gets boring. As I see it, femininity and masculinity are not restricted by boundaries, they blur into each other.
When I try to think of who would use the bag, I imagine a life style. I picture someone innovative, creative, interesting. I think of functionality and materials, but never about gender. And so when the line was first seen I was asked does it address women or men. It took me a minute to realize - it doesn't matter.
I don't like the term "Unisex", as I don't think we should unify all genders. I try to think of gender as a spectrum, in which masculine and feminine are mixed together, interlacing one into the other.
